Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand is one of the most popular pilgrimage (or tirth yatra) in Hinduism. Devotees aspire to visit this holy Chardham pilgrimage once in a life time. The Holy Chardham- A visit to the quartet of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri is believed to cleanse the mind and soul from impurities and sin. The absolute power of holiness and spiritualism that prevails in these places is enough to attract lakhs of devotees every year in season time (between May to October). Besides the blessing of the almighty, pilgrims enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of nature and the spiritual ambiance of Himalayas covered by snow, the melodious chirping of birds & the scatter thick green forests.

LOCATION: Chardham, literally the four abodes, Yatra refers to the journey up the mountains to four sacred temples in the North-Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is also sometimes referred to as Chhota Chardham. The temples of Chota Chardham are located in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. Yamunotri and Gangotri are located in Uttarkashi district, Kedarnath is in Rudraprayag district and Badrinath is in Chamoli district.

AIRPORTS FOR CHARDHAM YATRA: Although being a major pilgrimage destination in India, air connectivity to this state is not as robust and reliable as other stations in the country. Currently, there are one major airports in Uttarakhand, which handle the heavy inflow of tourists in the region.

The Chardham Yatra usually commences from the holy city of Haridwar, which is an important pilgrimage center for Hindus and millions of devotees.
